A graduate of the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a former U.S. Army Civil Affairs officer, Mark spent nearly a decade leading complex operations in the Middle East and with the 82nd Airborne Division. His work ranged from facilitating humanitarian aid for over 100,000 refugees in Syria to advising local governance councils in the aftermath of ISIS occupation.
After transitioning from active duty, Mark launched The Veteran Professional, a platform that has reached over 100,000 podcast downloads and 200,000 page views, providing actionable career insights to fellow veterans.
In the private sector, Mark has served as Principal at Vedette Capital, where he sourced, evaluated, and secured funding for small business acquisitions, and as Director at Military Hiring Accelerator, where he led a veteran-focused recruiting and tech platform.
Today, Mark is an executive recruiter with Talent War Group, specializing in placing high-performing veterans in leadership roles at private equity portfolio companies, defense tech firms, and SMBs across the U.S. He’s a trusted partner to both business owners and transitioning veterans, known for his deep understanding of leadership, operations, and the unique value veterans bring to the workforce.
Mark lives in Charlottesville, VA with his family and is an avid runner, having completed five marathons.
